Week-end in Champagne: châteaux and vineyards between Marne and Aisne

From Château-Thierry to Louvois, via the Château de Boursault built for the Veuve Clicquot: a two-day weekend between medieval ruins, Renaissance manor houses and Champagne vineyards.

Editorial journal · Carte des Châteaux ·

Between the ruins of a 9th-century fortress and a Renaissance manor house built for one of Champagne’s most famous houses, this two-day weekend follows the Marne Valley eastwards, from the Aisne to the heart of the Champagne vineyards. Three stops, one setting: slopes covered in vines, winegrower villages and châteaux that each tell the story of a different century.

Designed by Philippe le Bel as a small autonomous fortress, it still marks the entrance to the castle site.
