Château de Septème, saved from ruin by the Deron family, now for sale for £3.8m

Eight years after restoring and reopening to the public this 14th-century fortified castle in Isère, the Deron family is now selling it for £3.8 million, seeking a particular buyer.

Three million eight hundred thousand pounds: that’s the price the Deron family has set for the Château de Septème in Isère, barely eight years after saving it from abandonment. Purchased in July 2018, this medieval fortress in the Pays Viennois region was fully restored before opening to the public, attracting around 200,000 visitors since then. The announcement, entrusted exclusively to Patrice Besse’s agency, comes as a surprise and raises questions about the future of this remarkable site.
