In 1983, when Jacques Gadel purchased Flamarens château in the Gers, the building was little more than a ruin, partially gutted by a fire that had swept through four decades earlier. Thirty-eight years, one generation and countless tonnes of stone and timber later, his children Arthur and Marie-Hélène Gadel continue the restoration work. On 19 and 20 September 2026, they will open the site free of charge to showcase, with photographs, models and videos, the progress of a project now focused on restoring the lost roofs.
