Ce qui s'ouvre le 11 octobre
Seven times between 1774 and 1786, Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette unpacked their trunks at Fontainebleau for the Court’s autumn stay. Two hundred and forty years after their last visit, the château dedicates to them, from 11 October 2026 to 25 January 2027, the exhibition « Splendour and sweetness of life », featuring over 120 works and a tour that extends into the very apartments of the royal couple.
The exhibition’s title, « Splendour and sweetness of life », signals a more intimate than political angle: the art of living of a royal couple on holiday.
The Turkish boudoir and the Silver Boudoir
Among the rooms highlighted by the château are two boudoirs remodelled in the 1770s–1780s: the Turkish boudoir and the Silver Boudoir, now among the highlights of the apartments tour.
