A wall collapsing in 1998: this incident gave birth, two years later, to the Friends of Haut-Andlau Castle Association. Twenty-six years on, for the 2026 European Heritage Days—whose theme is ‘Heritage in peril: revive, resist, reimagine’—the association presents its most ambitious project: the consolidation of the rampart and west walkway of this medieval Alsatian ruin, carried out as a two-year professional inclusion site.
