Above the gorges of the River Agoût, in the Sidobre massif, the Château de Ferrières stands tall with its corner towers and Renaissance façade, carved above the commune of Fontrieu in the Tarn. Since 2021, this listed monument has been undergoing a restoration project led by its owners, with the support of the Mission Patrimoine. On 18, 19 and 20 September 2026, European Heritage Days will invite the public to discover this ongoing project under the title 'Renaissance at Ferrières'. Yet beyond this event, the story of Ferrières is one of long-term work, still in progress, which must be told without conflating what has been restored, what is currently underway, and what remains, for now, a future ambition.
