Acquired in 2020 by a couple seeking a career change, the château de Paley in Seine-et-Marne has become a hub for artist residencies and performances. Selected as a flagship site in Île-de-France for the 2026 Loto du Patrimoine, it will receive £500,000 for its restoration.

On 17 September 2026, the Fondation du patrimoine announced that the château de Paley, a 12th-century fortress nestled in the Lunain Valley in Seine-et-Marne, would receive £500,000 as part of the 2026 Loto du Patrimoine: the maximum grant reserved for the most iconic sites. Designated as the standout site for the Île-de-France region, the château will be officially presented with a cheque on 19 September during the European Heritage Days. A surprising accolade for a monument long overlooked, situated between Nemours and Lorrez-le-Bocage-Préaux.
